They had been saying that Honda could be "that mystery team" that breaks up a win for Ferrari or Renault.

Right pal. Nevermind that it rained for everyone
lol... Nevermind that Jenson didn't have issues or crash or retire. Only those best drivers did, right? Makes a lot of sense. You didn't happen to notice Jenson started from 14th, made three stops, and still finished 30.8 seconds ahead of de la Rosa. Take a look at the big picture and not just resort to "they suck blah blah"..
His win was on merit. I'd be the first to say HRF1 have looked poor in recent races, and overpromised & underdelivered from their winter testing form. Not today. Not only was Jenson's drive brilliant (not so much as a wobble), but the strategy was spot on for a change. I'm hoping the staff shuffle including the ouster of Willis and the promotion of Nakamoto, as well as changes brought to the car that Rubens asked for, have taken things in the right direction.

There's a saying that I absolutely love about racing.
"You have to first finish before you can finish first."
I've always tried to remember this in my little world of racing
Jason-
who reminds people that Button started 3 spots behind Schumacher

I agree. In the future, out of courtesy: Please do not post race results in the Subject Heading. This is not necessarily directed at you Mirai as it applies to everyone.
I had recorded this while out of town intending to watch it when I returned home. Honestly, now that I know who won the race, it's going to be very anticlimatic watching it...
Anyway, it's about time JB won a race. He and Honda have been long overdue for a win.

First...sorry for posting the results on the title line without a warning. Was too stoked to think straight.
Second, as someone said, it rained for everyone, not just the experienced drivers who crashed out. So it rained...isn't that also a part of racing?
Third, Jenson Button started #14 on the grid and moved up to #4 within the first 3 or 4 laps, way before the major contenders crashed out out..
Finally, M.S. was up to second place, and Alonso was in first place in several parts of the race. Not being able to maintain their position because of poor strategy, weather conditions, or machine problems is also a part of racing. JB, RB, and Honda did an awesome job not to mention that JB was a good 40 seconds ahead of the 2 place finisher when he crossed the finish line.

Fuggin A great race all around.
to the JB and the entire Honda team, this was a long time coming!
Also, JB was closing heavily on FA during both stints. JB had an EXCELLENT chance to win the race even if FA had not had mechanical problem.

Some old names in that Top 10. PDLR in second place?? A far cry from his days as a Jaguar backmarker.
Good to see Nick Heidfeld and David Coulthard up there...those guys have a lot to offer the right team.
Maybe Honda will make a new Type-R to commemorate this win

Dont' be a hater. Look at the career of every great driver, in addition to talent and great equipment, you also need some luck. True, Honda is not quite up there with Renault, Ferrari and McLaren, but the win today was 100% deserved, both for the team and JB. Rain is the great equilizer, and everyone had to deal with the same conditions.
Major props goes to JB for driving an error-free race and winning from a starting position of #14. Honda had a strong package today, JB and RB drove solid races, and sure, they may have benefited from some of the front-runners retiring, but it doesn't take anything away from the win.
That was one of the most memorable races in recent memory. It took 9 years, but finally, Honda gets that win.

From: where it rains 24/7 stay away...
people people it wasnt the drivers faults that alansos lugnug came loose and the right rear wheel off. of else it would of been just another podium finish for jb and not a win. but im glad that honda and jb got one of thier back, and most likely the last one for the year.
