Best Cams/Header for road racing setup....
Just trying to get an opinion on what people are running or suggest running for my setup.. its a b18c1 with ctr pistons and currently stock cams, blox IM, DC 4-1 header with 2.5" exhaust..
mainly looking for upper end power...
anyways, let me know what you suggest... I'm thinking about new valvesprings/retainers and some Skunk2 stage 2 cams, but unsure about the header part of the equation...

you're looking for upper end power..yet you want to road race.
ideally, don't you want mid-range power for road racing?

do NOT get a DC header. EVER.
I have a b16 with a spoon header and buddy club spec 3+ cams. Could use a little more torque from a 1.8 but i still ahve a great time out on the track.

I would reccommend the S2 Pro1 for road racing. Be sure to clay the motor though and if you don't already have something to tune with, you're gonna need that.
It depends on how fast are the tracks are you planning to run ?Do you use close ratio gear ?Compression ? Personally i use JUN 4 cams for my road racing setup now (6500-9500),but if i were to change i would try out roller rockers from Ferrea.

The tracks I am mostly concerned with running on right now are Texas World Speeday down near Waco, TX, Motorsports Ranch (just south of Ft. Worth, TX) and the new Motorsports Ranch track just south of Houston, TX. Right now I just have a stock 99-00 Si trans but possibly looking into getting an LSD here before too long. As for my compression, its roughly 13:1 ('96 b18c1 bored 0.025", with matching CTR pistons, oem headgasket and stock head with the bottom end fully balanced when I had the engine rebuilt about 1000 miles ago).

i ran with toda b's for a while. pretty good midrange, but topend wasnt there. it was fun, until i upgraded with some bc spec 4 cams, man.. im loving them. the only problem now is i gotta change my brake pads because of the extra power. hope you pick out the right cams and good luck.

alright.. I see a few people recommending the RM m22x's but what about the m22xx's? After doing a little bit of reading up on them, that seems like the better route for something like what I have with 2 larger primary lobes or possibly even the m24's... Also, I see the "power package" comes with a chip for that/my setup, but a chip for what? neptune? hondata? or either?
So what about the header now? I know DC is the cheap route, but I am not into doing things cheaply on this car anymore.. I want something (again) with good midrange to upper end power, that I wont have to modify for a 2.5" collector to match my exhaust, and isn't some SS autochrome eBay P.O.S...
I'll definitely be investing Neptune and yet another tune here in a few weeks and the cams will be soon to follow.. so far its at 188.3hp with 133.1 tq on a p73 ecu

Yeah the tranny route is also another wise option. As for the xx's, for you to really benefit from doing those over the regular x, some head work would hafta be done, maybe a ported IM and a better header. Your compression is there, but trust me....from personal experience, the M22x on a road race track would absolutely kick ***. The chips work with any ecu that is socketed for one, and in your motor he would probably set a vtec engagement of 6k and limiter at 9,300 or so. As for header wise, I might just stick with what you have now until you can do a Toda or a SMSP...something like that. The SS is NOT a upgrade from your DC.
