I will be lapping quite a bit this season so i thought adding a oil pressure guage will make it easier to spot mechanical failures. I was wondering is it hard to install a electrical oil pressure guage?? What about a mechanical unit compared to a electrical one?? What brand are good and who sells these brands?
I'm using an autometer electric oil pressure guage. Fairly easy to install. You will have get fittings for the sender unit to install and run a couple of wires through the firewall.

Ok guys...thanks for the info. But how much is the autometer unit? Is there a website where i can look at these things? Thanks.
If you're going to go to the trouble (very little trouble) to install the oil pressure gauge, might I suggest an oil temp gauge at the same time? You can "T" the senders off of the same place once you have purchased the adapters and lines (which you'll need if you're only doing one anyway) and the gauge wiring is no more trouble. Just something to think about.

Also consider a 'full-sweep' version which is much easier to read on-the-fly. I have used the autometer electric oil pressure gauge and it wasn't the greatest considering the crappy sweep, but it does the job. Mechanical gauges seem to work better but come with more work and restrictions, although the price is often lesser.
