Not to sound like an ***, but your question can be easily answered by performing a search. I tried using the word "rota" and came up with over 30 topics...Go for it man...

There's also a new color called steel grey which is a very light gunmetal similar to the ITR stockies. IMO, the black/dark gunmetal thing has been done enough already.

As far as quality, there some blurb out on the net that everyone always copies/quotes about rota adhearing to the same standards as the big 3 US car makers. Whatever on that since quality isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Ford, GM, or DC .

However people are buying rota's like there's no tomorrow and I haven't heard a single horror story yet. Most people seem thrilled. The word on the street is Rota have high quality construction (for a cast wheel), but low quality painted finish which makes them affordable.

i got silver, looks gunmetal when it's a little dirty. when i wash my car i leave the wheels unwashed to keep the gunmetal gray look... and yes rota does have SHYT paint finish on the wheels.

if you wanted a better paint finish, why not buy a set of rota's used and then get a high quality Powdercoat job? Wouldn't that work better? What are your guys opinions.

of course that would be better but i don't think many people have used rota's for sale (not tired of them yet, i guess its a newer trend?) and plus new wheels are already affordable... i'd get mine powdercoated every few years though if my original finish doesnt hold up well

The only questionable finish on any Rota is the flat black.

Every other color has an excellent finish. I own 2 sets myself and they have withstood Atlanta's shittiest roads and countless auto-x's too.

I have sold at least 15 sets at the shop I work at and not ONE single complaint yet!

Rota gets a huge from me.

if you are concerned about weight, then the blades weigh a lot.

is it easy to powdercoat the rims yourself??
i want a dark metallic/gunmetal grey.
or how could i match the same color of the gunmetal ITR rims?
i think that color would look nice on my car *2000 red gsr*
what kinda paint would u use and where would u buy it..
or is there a shop in so cali that could do that?

If I were you Id get the new steel grey they look just like the evo gunmetal. Also get them in 16" I think they look too small in 15" unless you slam your ride all the way down. Don't get the gumetal slips they look just like the black slips.

If you want an awesome color, then do this - seriously:

Go to your local parts store and buy the Duplicolor Wheel Paint with the Gunmetal cap. Paint the wheels with that and they will look oh-so-dope.

I'll find pictures of H-T's own CheezeFrog who painted his brand new 16'' Circuit 8's with it.

Pics:

Now doesn't THAT **** look bad-***?

The wheel paint is durable and as you all can see it looks absolutely flawless!

That **** is clean. Do you know what color his rims were to begin with? I't might come out in slightly different shades depending on the rim color....unless he primered it first.

IM CheezeFrog.

I'm asking him how he did it too.

I want to do my fiancee's sliver C8's just like that, and I need to ask him if he painted them with the tires mounted or not, what or if he primered them, etc.

I'll pass the word if he tells me first y0!

if you paint with the tires on, the index card trick that was posted on here looks like the way to go.

For those that don't know, you just wedge index cards between the wheel and tire and it give you a nice clean mask without the hassel of tape.

tararan, it's not that confusing: all of rotas gunmetal colors are really dark expect for the new steel grey which is similar to cheesefrogs

B18C5-EH2: that's good to hear about the no complaints

I'm going to buck the trend and get some silver sub0's
