Well after close to 8 months of sitting, I have finally decided to get the GSR back on the road... I bought a new USDM ITR trans earlier this week, ACT HDSS Clutch, and a Fidanza Flywheel... Now I have searched and read the FAQ, but I have not seen a definitive answer on what is the best fluid to use in the transmission. I have seen: 10w30 Motor Oil, Honda MTL, and GM Syncromesh. I have some Mobil 1 10w30 sitting around, would this be ok to use until after I have broken the trans in, or should I be using something else?

 

This has been covered time and time and time and time and time and time again. Everybody has a different opinion/story on the tranny fluids. Any of the above listed will work just fine. I prefer OEM Honda MTF myself

 

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll throw the Mobil 1 in for now, and switch to a proper MTL after break in.

 

I would go with gm syncromesh. I have redline in my transmission now and i hate it, syncromesh is going in there asap.
