since ITR is not here yet, I was thinking on tire size.

I want to buy BFG G-force TDw2
should 205/45/16 be ok ?

Nice pic, yes i know in japan they come 215, so i was wondering how the 205 would be on the 16x7 wheel.
Since wheel is 7inch wide, i dont want it to look like the wheel is sticking out.
Can you send me a closeup pic of 1 wheel with a 205 tire? also a side taken pic of a wheel.
Thx man , need your help with this.
I need to place my order by next week on 4 BFG TDW2 Gforce

You can use either 205/45-16 or 215/45-16. Either one will fit fine. The 205/45 is slightly smaller in diameter than stock, and the 215/45 is slightly smaller, but both differ by less than 1 percent.
Decide on the tire you want to use, and see which size is available. I don't think any one tire is available in both sizes (at least, here in the States), so it's going to be either one or the other.
The tires I mentioned in my post about 15" summer tires are all available in one of these 16" sizes for the ITR, except the OEM tires. One option not mentioned there is the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is a great tire, offering excellent dry traction, outstanding wet traction, and reasonably long treadlife. It's available in 205/45-16 (but not in the best 15" sizes for the ITR, which is why I didn't mention it there). It's not inexpensive, but right now there's a $40 rebate on a set.

I assume you're actually referring to the BFG g-Force T/A KDW2. I don't know about prices in the West Indies where you are, but here in continental North America, that tire is not a good value for the money ($119/tire at the Tire Rack). It's not a bad tire, but it's way overpriced. Its performance is about as good as the Kumho Ecsta SPT, which costs HALF as much ($61/tire after rebate). Or, for about the same price as the KDW2, you can get the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is a MUCH better tire ($118/tire after rebate).

He thx for your reply.
I know i can use both, but we have good experience with BFG , instead of Eagle F1 Gsd3 etc.
Since BFG TDw2 is only avail in 205 i want to go for it.
The only thing that scares me is, that JDM ITR wheel is 16x7, and i dont want the tire to stay small in the way of seeing the Wheel pulled out of the tire, the tire must be with its Wheel protector space.
On tirerack itself i will order,do you maybe what the "Xl"stands for on the 205/45 size?? you can see it on tirerack.
I assume the tire is wide enough to protect the wheel nicely or stay precise on the 16x7 wheel.
let me know.

i had 205/40/16's before Falken ZIEX 502, they came with the rim.
the gap was definitely smaller, but now i'm running Bridgestone RE01 that is215/45/16 and it feels so much better, but you can stick with 205/45 though, but don't go 40...imo.

let me put it like this>any one has BFGoodrich TDW2 Gforce 205/45/16 on 16x7 JDM ITR wheel.
Please help me with a close up pic

You're really wasting your money with the BFG tire. You can get a much better tire for the same money, or similar performance for a lot less money. They're just plain overpriced.
16x7 is perfect for 205/45-16. Most tires that size are approved for rims 6.5-7.5 inches wide. 16x7 is right in the middle - perfect.

The g-Force Sport is crap. It's just a crappy tire for the money. It's about as bad as the inexpensive tires that you were stuck with a few years back, like the crappy Dunlop FM901 and the crappy Kumho Ecsta Supra 712. Those other tires are so bad that their manufacturers have brought out MUCH better tires in the same price range - the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and the Kumho Ecsta SPT. The SPT performs MUCH better than the crappy g-Force Sport on dry pavement, performs MUCH better than the crappy g-Force Sport on wet pavement, lasts just as long as the crappy g-Force Sport, and the SPT is cheaper ($61 after rebate vs $71). Try the Kumho SPT when you wear out the crappy g-Force Sport, and I'm sure you'll agree.
BTW, did I mention that the g-Force Sport is crap?

The downsides of the Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 (the tire you're talking about) is that they wear very fast, and they're not all that great. If you want a tire that has the best grip on dry pavement and you don't care if it wears out really fast, you're better off with the Falken Azenis RT-615, which also comes in 215/45-16. The Falken is better than the Hankook in every way.

If you can get JDM tyres, I would opt for Bridgestone RE01R's in 215/45/16.
If you are purchasing USDM tyres, I would opt for Falken Azenis RT615 in 215/45/16.

The RE01R and RT-615 are very similar tires. They both are designed with one overriding objective: to offer outstanding grip on dry pavement. They both have the same downsides - they don't last very long (typically 10-12K miles for the Azenis, and I don't know exactly how long the RE01R lasts, but it has the same treadwear rating as the RE010 stock tire, which typically gets 15-20K miles) and neither one is all that great in rain. Both are excellent at what they do well. The RE01R is significantly more expensive than the RT-615.
If you want the maximum traction on dry pavement, and you don't care at all about treadlife or wet grip, then the RE01R and RT-615 are excellent choices. However, if you sometimes dry in rain, and/or if you care about how often you'll be buying new tires, you're probably better off giving up just a little bit of dry traction to get tires that are better in those areas, such as the inexpensive Kumho SPT or the not so inexpensive Goodyear F1 GS-D3.

hankooks are cheap but suck! thats it about them and yes i work at NTB so i have a lot of knowledge about tires and ive had all of those tires except the direzza
yeah the GY f1-d3 is a great tire but be prepared to spend a buck on those

Nonsense. Like most tire companies, Kumho makes some tires that offer excellent performance and value (like the Ecsta MX and Ecsta SPT summer tires, the Ecsta ASX all-seasons, and their line of R compound track tires), and some tires that are terrible (like the Ecsta Supra 712 and Ecsta 711).

Nonsense. The SP9000 is an old top-of-the-line tire that was not very good when it first came out about ten years ago, and is now obsolete (which is why Dunlop came out with the SP Sport Maxx to replace the SP9000 as its top-of-the-line tire).
Sounds like you haven't driven ANY of the tires you're dissing.

The Direzza DZ101 is very good, similar to the Kumho Ecsta SPT and Yokohama ES100 - decent dry traction, very good wet traction, last a while, and attractively priced. These are the best values for those who want a decent-performing summer tire without paying an arm and a leg for it.

At least statements like that peg the BS meter off the scale, and make it easy to see that you have no idea what you're talking about. kumho tires dont last long and are very noisey buy people buy them because they are cheap
i called discount tire direct (direct distibutor for ntb if no one else has them) they didnt have them in 15's or 17's they had to be ordered and they didnt really have a set price on them either again i like them dunlop sp9000 great tire but cost a lot
ive used
the sp9000 on my set of ssr comps 215-40 17
the es100 on my rota's 205 40 17 dont last very long and every set ive sold last less then 10k miles if that and the water traction sucks
falken 215 on my gsr blades(loved those had 2 sets)
falken 615 on my itr wheels overrated water traction sucks and dont last long
buddy has hankook's on his 15's he hates them
bfg g-force on my jdm 16's
and yes i Work at National tire and Battery and i use to work at discount tire so i have knowledge about tires

Nonsense. Another gross generalization. Their track tires don't last long. Their SPT tires last 30-45K miles.
Now I don't believe that you work at a tire dealer. Anyone who works at a tire dealer knows that some tires last longer than others.

Nonsense. I don't believe you've ever used the ES100, either! Again, you're the only person on the planet making such silly statements. Heck, I've got a set of ES100 on the GS-R with 38K miles on them and they're not even down to the treadwear bars yet. And they're excellent in rain! (Not quite as good as the SPT, but excellent nonetheless.) And that's not just my opinion; lots of other people say the same thing, like in this previous topic.

Don't you EVER tell the truth? I never claimed any tire as my "favorite", Kumho or otherwise. Like I said, most brands (including Kumho) make some very good tires and some that are not so good. I recommend whatever ones are the best for the money, based on the preferences and needs of the people who are buying them. And since I don't work in a tire store, I don't have any financial interest in steering people towards certain brands and away from others.
Since you only talk about "ratings", I assume you're now admitting that you've never actually driven any of these Kumho tires.
I can't even understand what you're saying here. "come in the 712" - WTF does that mean? Can you type in English, please? It sounds like you know as little about proper grammar as you do about tires.

BFGoodrich's tire and rubber business was bought out by Michelin in 1988, so tires sold under the BFG name are made by Michelin. Certain other parts of the company (like their aviation engineering business) was left independent and operates under the Goodrich name (without the BF part).

</TD></TR></TABLE>
azenis in general dont last long if youre using them for track use
i'd say 2000-3000 track miles, before they need replacement

The Bridgestone Potenza RE01R is already available in the States. However, smaller sizes (like the ones that fit the ITR) are only available overseas, and are not sold by dealers here.

They certainly don't last as long if you're ONLY using them on the track. That's true of ANY tire. The 10-12K mile treadlife I mentioned assumes mostly street use (brisk driving
), maybe with an occasional autocross or HPDE thrown in, but not purely track use.

I already answered it. And no, I didn't need to look it up. I go to the track with some of the guys who work at what remains of Goodrich (the aviation engineering side) - it's still located in Ohio - and they told me all about it, years ago.
