Default 91 CRXsi shocks and struts?

What would a quality stock replacement for the shocks/struts be?

Any experience with stiffening up the stock suspension without dropping the car?

The car is mint, but with 160,xxx miles on it. I am keeping this one bone stock.

needless to say, the shocks are worn. What would be a stiffer than factory replacement?

no one huh?

come to think of it---I would probably prefer a 1 to 1.5 drop. not the "slammed" look, but a nice look.

Tein? ground control? tokico?

Anyone? Im after quality, not no name.

go for koni reds they are adjustable before you install if you want a firmer ride, and are priced the same as most replacement shocks

everyone knows im a fan of illuminas. they are a great shock, plenty of adjustmant, compression AND rebound simultaneously. im currently using them with stock shocks, but ive raced with high spring rates such as 450f/900r and everything in between. lifetime warranty.

eibach prokit and illuminas is a great combo for street fun. plenty capable tracking with it too with a rear swaybar. i also autocrossed with this setup too.

but spring choice really depends on what kind of driving you want to do and do well. its always a compromise.

thanks for the input, but this isn't gonna be project racecar, it is a daily driven excellent shape bone stock honda. I just want a stiffer around the corners in a canyon on an off day suspension. But something that will still be decent on a road trip and wont beat the **** out of my kidneys and lower back!

thats whats great about illuminas. you can adjust them where you want.

like i said, im using them with stock springs right now. they work great because i can find the right setting that im looking for. my only point was that these were the same shocks i used with spring rates 2-3 times greater.

id go with illuminas and prokits. lots of crx owners have been happy with this.
