Default Sorry to bring this up again! AEM CAI vs. J's Racing with a custom CAI extention ( ie Comptech Iceb

I've really liked the design of the J's racing; in fact, I had ordered the J's racing before but cancelled it because of money reasons. On the other hand, it seems as though used AEM CAI, can be had from $90-$150 which means for someone who is on a budget like I am, it is the one to go with as the J's racing one will end up costing me $200 plus the cost of making a box around it. So basically, if the AEM CAI is nearly as good as the J's racing, I will just go get a used AEM, but if you guys feel like there are significant gains and much better throttle response to be found with the J's racing set up, I may splurge and spend the extra money to get the J's. What do you guys think? When is the great intake test and will it test these two intakes.

I appologize for these questions. I know there have been threads on intakes but none of them completely answered my questions. Thanks in advance guys.

Just get a Icebox, use the stock inlet tube and a k&n filter and you'll be game.

The AEM doesn't fit when you put the blower on. You can cut it and use a longer tube to connect it up if you want but I just ended up using the JR intake instead. It fit better and looked nicer, plus Jackson blowers seem to like a short ram over a CAI anyway.

Don't use the stock tube. Because of the throttle body being positioned lower, you'll wind up with a pretty tight bend in the tube, almost a full kink.
