Default ? regarding racing....

When starting off a race, do you just start from a standstill at idle, or do you bring the rpm's up to around 2500 or 3000 and then drop the clutch? Just wondering because my car is coming on the road again in a week or so and I want to try and get the best time possible!!

Dropping the clutch is extremely bad for your transmission unless you have a racing clutch. Just start from a stand-still and try to peel out by laying into it real quick. Your times will not be all that different from stock with the few mods you have done. If you want good times, then you need more stuff!

starting from a standstill is not going to get you the best times in drag racing...and most people bring the revs up to a designated rpm and either drop the clutch or feather the gas while releasing the clutch. Even with minimal mods you still want to get the best times possible.
