Default tranny swap woes.

ok i have a friend that has the jdm s20 lsd tranny that is blown and im looking for a replacement. we have found out the the tranny has blown forks and i know that the 96+ s40 trannies have steel forks, but what i was wondering if a 96-00 tranny would bolt in to a 92-95 chassis with no problems.

oh i didnt know that they were interchangable. i though it was the same situation with eh 90-93 tegs and the 94-00 tegs, the trannies will ,mate to the block, but the mounts were different on the transmission. thats something new to learn
