timing belt scraping because of cam gears?

hey everyone, well im getting aem cam gears and my friend said that my timing belt will start scraping the piece of plastic that covers the cam gears, has anyone had a problem, with this?

it shouldnt as long as the belt is sitting evenly on the gears

My belt didn't scrape the middle timing cover, but the bolts for my cam gears did. right now it's off, but someday I'll cut out a hole and put it back on

No, scraping the timing belt covers is caused by not properly installing/securing the covers. The gears wont cause that.
