Car not starting when hot weather???
I can start my car with no problem all winter long spring and fall, but once summer comes it wont start when it gets hot. I can start it in the morning, and drive it for a while park somewhere and shop, but once I come back out and try to start it, all it does is keep cranking. I have heard of other hondas doing the same thing, but I dont know how to fix it. The hotter it gets the worse, sometimes it will only not start for like 5 mins, but when it gets to be over 100 degrees, the car wont start for 30 mins some times. I need to get it fixed I dont know what the problem, could there be a relay that gets stuck when the weather gets hot and the wires swell?
Go out to your car and turn the key to run if you dont hear the fuel pump prime the system for 2 seconds your main relay is the problem. I replaced main relay yesterday because I had the smae problem and now its gone. There are alot of treads on this just do a search for main relay and you'll find alot of information.
I vote for main relay. Mine was going out and a 100 degree day killed it. Popped it out, reheated the solder, popped it back in. Good as new. Solder with it upside down so the solder doesn't drip onto the coil.
Is there any way to test it, like could I spary it with one of those cans of air you use to clean keyboards with. so it cools down real fast and then try to start the car, would that possibly diagnose the problem?
You could resolder it and see if that fixed it,
Took me like 15 minutes. Anyway, if it doesn't hum/click when you turn the key on and the fuel pump doesn't prime, you've diagnosed the problem.
