UHm...Wtf..fuses.
my instrument lighting went out. Ya know the lights that light up the gauges at night. Then the blinker lights went out. Not the bulbs themselves . I checked the fuses and they were fine exept for the "instrument lights" wich i replaced. Then it broke the second i turn the car on. it did this 3 times...Am i puttin in the fuses wrong..they are the right type. any help will do. thanks

It's probably a short..
but just one thing I noticed, you said "Am i puttin in the fuses wrong.." - explain how ur putting them in, and what ampage ur using, etc. for optimal responses

dont know how you would put fuses in wrong? but yeah, check for a short, your running lights-all the lights that come on on the first click, front and rear, and your instrument lights are all on the same fuse. have you replaced or done anything with your dash lately? should be a 10 amp fuse btw
Definetly a short somewhere. Im sure you already know this but if any of your buddies suggest putting in a bigger fuse...not the best idea.
Let us know what happens though, but my guess is a short and unfortunatly a pain in the *** most of the time to locate. Was anything done to the car prior to the start of this problem? Like..were you screwin around with anything electrical under the dash and whatnot? Im not implying that you wouldnt know what you're doing...but there's been a few times ive left wires a bit bare or forgot to hook up a simple ground and it took me HOURS to come to that conclusion.
Good luck man.

well i had the switch...or ehm the key turned to the on position when i put the fuse in, but then i trye witht it off and same result...i think theres too much current going trough it.
Also yeah man. i was messing with the climate control console..i got back there and fugged with some wires..my radio is hooked up the theif way...spliced and there are bare wires that are not needed. Also my ecu had the cover off and some water go it..i dont think this would be the problem tho..just a splash on the wires.

LIke the rest of the guys said, there is probably a short somewhere. I had a similar problem but i just put in a slighty larger fuse...this lasted for a while. However, i figured out that somewhere in the system, whenever i turned on my signals, half the instrument panel would dim. I guess whenever i switched on the signals...it was activating some other sources, causing my fuse to blow...hope this helps

Update**
i went ****** around with the fuses again and did what i wasnt supposed to do.. I put a 20 fuse where the 7.5 to see if it would work..it didnt but later on i was messing with the rear right speaker cuz it went out and i messed withthe radio..anyway i put it back turned the car on and smoke came out where the instrument dimmer is...wtf is wrong ...the 20 fuse was ok..a 10 was blown i raplaced and it was all good no more smoke..but my blinkers and instrument lighting dont work and rear right speaker is out...Any insight.? How much would it cost to have someone check it out.
