Default starting problem - 91 dx

usually after the car has been driven recently, and has been brought to normal operating temp, it will have problems starting after, unless it has sat over night.

the sounds are strange when cranking it over, and i thought it was the starter, had that tested, its fine.

it has a winding up noise, sometimes with somewhat of a grind, and progressively takes more times cranking before starting as i was repeatedly shutting off and restarting. of course sometimes it wont start at all.

could this be the distributor? is there any way to have that part tested?

starter is fine, battery is fine, alternator is fine, replaced cap and rotor recently also.

please help me out with which direction to head next.

update:

its flashing code 16, and i did the entire re-solder fix for the main relay. still flashing 16 (injectors).

i just replaced the injectors a month ago.

doesnt make sense, almost time to just sell this pos.

im not going to go drop 500+ dollars at some automotive electrical specialist so they can replace a bunch of **** and still have the same problems.

please help, otherwise she goes bye bye.

when you replaced your cap and rotor did you see like a red powder or dust inside the old cap ? I worked on a honda one time that made funny noises cranking over and was hard to start . the distributor shaft bearing was goin bad and locking up causing the motor to struggle when it was turning over. Just a thought
