Brake noise on 2000 accord
I have a 2000 accord, vtec 4cyl engine. I changed the brake pads a couple years ago. When I bought the pads, the parts store said they were ceramic. Right away they started making noise, drove my wife crazy. The noise apparently went away after a few months, I just replaced one of the rotors and the noise is back. Anybody know what's happening or is this specific to the ceramic pads?
Even ceramic pads can squeal, although they typically squeal much less than, say, semi-metallic pads. The ONLY brake pads I've ever used that don't squeal even a little bit are OEM pads.

axxis ulitmate doesn't squeal also, did you put anti squeal on the back of the pad?
was the pad break in properly?

Not sure if you are asking me or the OP, but... Yes, to both of your questions. Those are definitely good questions for the OP.
I've used the Axxis Ultimate on my older Accord, and I still got the occasional squealing, albeit very quiet...

Yeah, I guess it is... I haven't figured out why though, b/c I would assume the composition of the pads is the same. A good friend of mine uses the Axxis Ultimates on his S, and I've never heard a peep out of them.
Go figure...

i have Satisfied Ceramics, very quiet, havent heard a noise from them, but im not saying they are completely silent, i just cant hear it from inside the car.
i used this one brand called Trustar(?) before, i dont know, my dad bought it. they were LOUD as expletive, from brand new til the day they needed changing, it was horribly loud, my friends could hear me stopping for a stop sign 2 blocks away.
check your poads, maybe its time for a change, it has been a couple years

sometimes when changing the pads the shims dont come off with the pad and stay stuck onto the caliper, so maybe its there but you didnt notice during the change. you should check though, it would only take 15 minutes and getting a little dirty
