Default gutted cat/test pipe

my dad caught me with a test pipe on and hes making me put my cat back on or else hes going to weld the cat back on. so my question is if i gut out my cat will it get the same performance as a test pipe does? my only mods are intake and test pipe. if i gut the cat out will it make a ricer buzz sound?

dynos show that a test pipe is no better than a hi-flow cat

You'll have that ricer buzz.

It's also a less chance getting caught with no cat. i mean even if it makes that ricer buzz sound the cop can look under your car and see that you have a cat on and stock exhaust setup.

Personally I would'nt puch the cat out. I did it on my 95' GSR and there was'nt a difference in performance. If you get pulled over by a cop or even a C.H.P that knows what's up with mods, some will look for a cat. If your missing one, you could pay a pretty fat fine. As for sound, no. The muffler and the resonator reduces noise, depends on what kind of muffler you use.

gutted cat is bad. the large chamber creates turbulance for the air.

actually a cat that is in good condition will reduce sound output nearly *** much as a muffler
