Default Clutch pedal adjusting rod question?

Hello all, just a quick question....

is it possiable to adjust the clutch pedal rod "too long" (the u-clip threaded almost all the way out) that it actually starts "bottoming out" and damages the clutch master cylinder? I would like to raise my clutch engagement point a bit but am weary of this as there is only about 2 more threads left to backout. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can't do too much there. The clutch master cylinder must be at exactly the right position when you're not pressing the pedal. There's a vent back to the reservoir, and if the MC doesn't come to rest in the right place, then it can't auto-adjust itself as your clutch disk wears out.
