alright i want springs or coilover
alright people, it's about time i got my ep3 lowered. I want something decent but wont put a hole in my wallet. what do you guys suggest i get? i was thinking about the skunk2 coilovers.
Skunk 2 are a good quality coilover kit(sleeves) But if you havent changed your OE shocks I would look into a full shock and spring replacement or if you want the adjustability then coilovers.
head over to ephatch and check out the suspension forum. there is a couple of threads exactly like this one.
some good info in there from guys who know their ish.

Skunk2 makes good stuff but I have seen alot of people selling them to get a full coilover set. Suspension isn't going to be cheap but it all depends on what you are going to be doing with the car? Daily driver, weekend track car, autocross, or what?
If it is going to have any track time your gonna want to shell out the cash and get something with bump dampning adjustment. You can get a good set for cheap but it will take shopping around.
If you are going for looks just get some springs.

Skunk2's are not bad. But I suggest springs instead of coilovers. I've had coilovers before and they really didn't provide for the best ride imo. Could've been that specific coilover idk. But from my experience, I like springs a lot more.
u live in philly... so did u ever think about the fact if u have coilovers that it may get rusted over in the winter and can't move up or down anymore? iunno, thats what my friend said when he went to get coilovers. so he just went with springs...

If it is a Daily driver then springs are the best buy for you.
The main reason that coilovers have a more "rigid" or less comfortable feel is because of the pillow ball mounts, they are metal on metal giving the driver more feel from the road. If you want comfort but looks just get a set of skunk2 springs, or teins, or even eibach. You will sacrifice a little ride comfort but that is from the spring rate from the car being lowered.
