Default brake help ASAP

hey guys, quick question. today i was changing my pads and rotors and while pulling the wheels off, i broke a hub stud. i have gotten the broken one out and went and picked up a new one.

im not positive how to put it back on though, since it doesn't fit due to the shield blocking my way. do i have to pull the hub off to change it? it seems like there is an easier way. i know this sounds extremely ghetto, but what about drilling a hole big enough in the back of the brake shield to slip in the stud?

well, let me know what you guys think. this is the last thing i need to do, other side is all finished

Although I've broken a stud off before I had someone replace it for me so I can't walk you through the process, hopefully someone else can.

BUT I'd just remove the dust shield altogether anyway. So if that's all that's holding you up just take it off and install the bolt.

yeah, i might, but it still doesn't look like it will clear

i think im gonna try it. every diagram and manual i have looked at have said that you need an axle puller in order to pull off the hub. even if i had one, i dont think i could pull it off because i already have the caliper and rotor off, and the car has to be sitting on the ground w/ wheel on and you have to go through the center cap so the whole assembly doesn't spin.

i bought two studs, in case i messed up another one (which i did).

i took the advice from the thread that I posted and when you hammer it through, it just strips off the threads and i really don't know how that dude did that. he said it was easy.
