Anybody in here use an aftermarket (not OEM) starter such as duralast…etc… mine went out & I purchased an autozone one yesterday. The thing sounds pretty rough, like it’s grinding but I know I installed correctly. Just wanted to know if that noise is normal amongst non-oem starters.

 

I've used non-oem starters, but never noticed any different sounds.
