I have been to, "Deals Gap" and all over 129 which is one of the better well known roads in the South East or perhaps even throughout all of the USA. Granted the set of roads I know that are semi local to my area can not be compared to 129, They really aren't to bad and can make for some fun riding! Brooksville and surrounding areas have over 100 ft elevation changes and plenty of high speed and low speed turns.

I have grown up in the Tampa area and I log around 60k miles a year with my job just driving around town. I know this area pretty good!

It really depends what area you will be working in, Tampa is kinda a large city!

I live a little north of Tampa, In a smaller area! But Tampa has a great interstate system (compared to other large city's) and I live like 5 min from the interstate so I can be in most any part of Tampa in under 30 min. South Tampa (SOHO) and Ybor City have plenty of Hott chicks and bars/clubs to party at. I like to party near USF though so I can get all the college chicks! Let me know some address's of places you may potentially get a job at So i can tell you a little about the area!

^What part of N. Tampa.. I live near Bruce B Downs and Bears. (edit: Oh.. lutz.. I used to live there as well. If I had a bike I would love to ride but yeah... no bike... yet)

Well the Tampa area is nice mix of old people and young people.. probaly the worst mix for riders. Welcome to Tampa anyways.

The best prospect thusfar is in south tampa off of henderson. My brother goes to school and lives near usf. i had been hoping to rent out a room near there, save some cash, then buy a house once i know the area better, but we will see.

The Henderson/ Dale Mabry area is pretty nice!

I would avoid any major real estate purchase right away, The market is hurting and prices are starting to fall!

They call it Raisin city for a reason. Tampa/St. Pete is like a retirement place for old people b/c of the weather and crap.

A apartment in South Tampa can range from $600-2,000+ for a one bedroom, It really depends what area you will be in. I have a 3 bedroom house and I charge 550$ for a room which includes a Garage!

Most 3 bedroom homes will be in the $1,500+ range for rent

N. Tampa around the USF/Temple Terrace area... 1 Bedroom = $450-$700 (depends what type of neighbors you want). Right now for a two bed/bath I pay $870.
