Default Idle absurdly high

So I hop in my car today, drive to work. Got in, it was idling around 1100 rpms. I know that's a little high, but it always starts that high, then goes down to 750-800 or whatever the exact number is. So I drive around a mile or so and come to a hill. I was in fifth, and shift into neutral and roll down the hill and planned to come to a complete stop at the bottom of the hill where the stop sign is. Rpms go from around 23-2500 to 3200 when i put it in neutral. I pushed the clutch in and out, then shifted into fifth and it went back to around 2300. So I put it in 5th, slowed to the stop, and put it into first and came to a stop, when I stopped-back up to 3200 rpms. I tapped the gas, it revved, then fell back to ~3200. So i kept on going, I put got on the interstate not stopping again, not shifting into neutral until I got off and pulled to the stop sign, fell to 800 or so rpms. So.. why did it do that?! Freaked me out. It stopped after I got on the interstate, but I mean it was idling at 1100 or so, then went up to 3200. Hmm.. anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: it's a 94 accord ex.

Terribly sorry.

In short,

Drove a mile or so this morning, came to a stop sign, put the clutch in and waited on the other person to go, my car idled at 3200 rpms or so.. didnt stop again until after I drove 5 miles on the interstate, and stopped, idled at 800. why did my car idle at 3200?

It's all good.

As retarded as this sounds, it's happened to me before, & I couldnt figure out why, till it happened again, & I realized that my foot was on the gas. It happens. Even though you think im crazy, it does happen.. lol.

Well, my foot wasnt on the gas.. I hit the gas when it happened, it revved up, and then it went back down to 3200 rpms.. I just got back from lunch, and it did it again, and this time, it did it the whole time, it never stopped.. this is really starting to worry me. as I shift, the rpms go higher, then slam back lower when i let off the clutch.

When it's idling high, try pulling up your gas pedal. Maybe it gets stuck and is causing this.

If everything checked out and if you think it's something mechanical, you might want to have your Idle Air Control valve checked out.

Does anyone know if Hondas have 'em? I'm a Honda n00b, don't know much about 'em.

yes they do. Any who cheack the throtal cable first it might be getting stuck. next check to make sure the crusie control, if you have it is off, or the cable isn't binding. If none of that works take a look at the throtal plate, clean it and make sure it is closeing properly.

If none of that works, clean you fast idle thermal, on the bottom of the throtal body. also clean the idle air control valve, on the back of the intake manifoild.

in the case that nothing works or while your testing, try the propain trick to find a possiable vaccume leak. have fun

Before you do anything, make sure that your radiator is full of coolant and the air is all burped out of the system.

U have a idler control on the side of ur intake and it has a screw on the bottom of it to adjust ur idle. Start it and try messing with that to see if u notice a diff. Im just Pissing in the wind here but the motor could be running rich to. See if it will throw any O2 codes. EVERYONE IM JUST PISSING IN THE WIND, DONT CHEW MY *** OUT.
