Default Problem with rear seatbelt.

Ok here goes,

I was dynamat'ing my rear speaker deck so I took out the rear seatbelt. When I went to put it back, it was locked. I tried to feed the belt in order to get it loose again and now its all fed in and it wont give at all.

Any idea how to get this thing going again? Its sitting on the rear seat instead of being installed on the rear deck

Well, I've experienced this.
What I do is I pet the seatbelt.
I talk to it real quick saying to be nice to me please
Then I pull it softly as if it has feelings.

They are very sensitive. You need to tip it back and forth slowly while pulling on the belt. As soon as the lock drops out the seat belt will unspool. Be very gentle and hold it level an it will come out.

I hope you were just being a smartass because that didn't help... or maybe I missed something.

I tried everything from telling the seatbelt how pretty it looked "hey, you look nice today, did you lose weight?" to turning the whole "mechanism" around and pulling on it. Nothing works

The sides of the thing are pretty clear but all I can see are some plastic gears. Eh, maybe I'll be brave like you and open it up.

Seatbelts, to my understanding, work off of a tilt mechanism that when brakes are applied, the tilt leans and locks the belt... So you have to hold it in that VERY SMALL window that it releases the lock from, to get the belt to come free.

The problem is the belt is rolled all the way in so I don't have much room to feed in the belt like you usually do to get it loose.

clip something to it and use the extension you made as a "longer belt"
than unravel it

and unclip whatever you did

VOILA ... SLACK!
