6.5's in a 00 Civic?
I have a civic cx with no front speakers. Will 6.5's fit? I searched and found threads all contradicting eachother. Some say 6, 6.2, and 6.5's will fit, and others say 6.5's will fit with modification. Just looking for some clarification

They fit in my '95, so I'm sure they haven't made the pockets SMALLER....
I just installed 6.5's today...they should very well fit..
Then again, I put mine in on an EX, but with the '00 I'd say they fit, go to crutchfeld or somebody that specializes in audio equipment's website and they'll tell ya what fits..
Don't go to circuit city's website like I did and find otu what fits....they add more sizes to make it seem like they have a bigger selection...go to crutchfeld.com
Like I said though, I'm almost postive they'll fit in ur CX

True, the magnet can't be too large or it'll interfere w/ the window...u can use a spacer or washers to bring the speaker out more to give it some room, but unless the speaker's unusually large, most 6.5 standards won't give u any ****, and w/ some soft foam and washers u can push it out more...

yeah they'll fit but i will almost gaurantee that you'll need to cut away some of the speaker mounting bucket to allow the magnet to fit in there.
if the speaker sits too deep in the door you'll need to make a mdf ring to raise the speaker out, but dont go too far or the stock speaker cover wont fit anymore.

That is the exact product I am buying...any other input after seeing the picture? I never thought it was such a hassle to install speakers where they were intended to be installed, haha

you cant really see anything of relevance in the pic. the main thing that prevents some speakers frombeing installed is the mounting depth and you cant see that in the picture.

I found this...
Mounting Enclosure: Non-Enclosed
Top Mounting Depth: 2.75 In.
Bottom Mounting Depth: 2.94 In.
Mounting Diameter / Length: 5.75 In.
Any help after reading the information above? I'm pretty sure that is crucial to whether they will fit or not. TIA.

What is the difference between flush and non flush speakers? Are the ones linked above flush? Also, can spacers be made or must they be bought? Thanks for any info/advice, I'm not too good with audio
I have 6.5" Rainbow Pro components in my doors. I had to cut away some plastic and a little metal to get them to fit in right. the magnets were a bit too big so I broke out the old dremmel and went for it. I just haven't put the speaker grills back on yet.
I'm still debating whether or not to go and put new 6.5 comps in the doors, then a 6.5" midbass speaker in the door, then an 8" sub in the rear doors (yeah.. gotta love the 4 dr's) then work on my trunk a little and put in 2 15's.. could be a fun time
