Default b16a revs to 7800

ok so last night i hooked up my sunpro 5in tach and i'm driving around and went to take it up to 8200 and hit the revlimiter at about 7800??? maybe its the tach but it shouldn't be i used the tach on my old mini me its weird. the tach tops out a 10k so nothin stopping it not to big of a deal if its the tach. the motors still making great power @ 7800 maybe the ecu.

not much is done to the motor cold air and clutch, no cat.

thanks for any help

You've got a auto ecu. You can remove the limiter by moving the resistor from r67 to r68.

I got me a sunpro and it reads about 200 rpm lower. I redline at 6500 but it reads like 6300. Wutever it was $50.

Yeah i use to have a tach in my old old hatch while back, it read off like 100-200 rpm is all, but overtime it seemed to correct itself and was pretty dead on and i hit rev limiter.

is ur dash tach still hooked up?
if so does it read the same rpm as the tach?

My old hatch before my old one was a 90 STD, the standard model does not come with a factory tach, hence having to install a tach.

Btw you know what pisses me off is seeing a saturn station wagon in a parking lot thats automatic with a TACH, but then these older cars "that are still more performance" then even that turd don't have a tach, and like 80% of them were made manual!?, wtf is up with that.

Yea i think my stock tach is pretty accurate don't have anything to compare it against...

Whats funny is that the STD didn't have a tach but the 4dr auto lx cluster i am rock for a few months out of the year has one

I had the same problem. Moving the resistor is very easy.
