Can I register my Sir with no Papers?
sorry i cant help you with that, but i just noticed you live in moreno valley. i will be there this weekend and i would LOVE to see ur car. the major crosstreets i'll be it is ironwood and perris. i have an '89 rex myself with an ls/vtec swap and i might bring it on the trip.
I don't know if there is a legal way but if it was my car...
I would go to the junkyard or anywhere for that matter and find a usdm version of my car then i would purchase the car and title. ( your looking for a junker with a clean title) I would proceed to remove the vin tag from the dash and put it on my sir and alter the vin # on the firewall (if the sir's have vins on the firewall) just don't tell anyone

ok call dmv and tell em your thinking about getting a parts car w/o papers and mabey some day it'll run.. if by chance that day comes up ask them what your options are. and why doesnt this car have papers btw?
He got it dirt cheap b/c it didn't have papers which means he got screwed. You should not have bought it without a plan to register it. Think things through next time. I would think you best bet now was suggested above(switch VIN with junker) which is illegal but might be your only option.

yep sketch ball city. however id call the dmv and still find out what your options are. im sure the dmv has more knowledge of the subject than h-t members who dont work @ the dmv. if your fuct then your fuct, claer a nice spot in the garage for it and let it sit
just an idea...I'm new to the JDM thing, but if you have a connection in Japan, see if someone can get a title made(or whatever they have there) I know here all you have to do is give them the VIN, year, mileage, whatnot...I don't know just my opinion
and ur std has 13.1:1 compression right???
now you just making up numbers. 13:1 aug 2001 sport compact magazine. has a ford focus on cover

hidden power of the 88 STD
9:35 PM 4/18/2002 mpfi swaps on 88 standards haul ***... know why? 13:1 compression stock. suply more fuel and air and BAM! your flying. my source, http://www.carpoint.com. fun stuff
honestly it's not worth trying to register it here, its dam near impossible and it will cost you 10 times what the car is worth. Your best bet is to buy a USDM crx and transfer everything over from the JDM car. It can be converted to RHD but this involves cutting the firewall and transfering it over to the USDM crx.
I would do as suggested, though it is illegal...Call the dmv, i'm sure they can't you out. BUT, you'll need all usdm glass, or DOT approved glass. Next, buy a CRX that has papers, put that vin on your car. pop the hood, and have someone who paints fill in the number on the firewall, then get a set of punches that are the same font/size, and punch in the new one, OR you could even go as far as cut the old numbers out with a plasma cutter, weld the number numbers in, and have a painted sand and blend it all in.
Holy crap , its not like its importing drugs or smuggling nuclear technology ! While I don't know anything about cars , I have some first hand experience in how to get an Aprilia RS 250 ( actually imported from Japan by Miyuki ! ) registered and AFAIK , the current owner hasn't been hauled off ! While the route I'm familiar with is impossible with a car , I know a couple guys in the AF that brought back bikes from Italy and sucessfully had em registered : in North Carolina's case , they would issue a title based on the bill of sale or Italian ownership document ; essentially treating it like an out of state title . California might not be your best bet , if you've got friends and relatives elsewhere give their states DMV/RMV a call .
I wouldn't do the VIN swap - the chances that you'll be caught are virtually none - but the insurance ramifications aren't worth the gamble . If you were to hit someone and the investigators found that that everything wasn't cool , they'd drop your coverage and you'd be out $$$ !
EDIT : there are LEGAL ways of getting it titled , insured and plated . You may have to jump through some hoops but it could very well be worth it . Don't do anything stupid and endanger yourself financially and legally !

13:1 compression sounds kinda high. Carpoint.com isn't the most accurate site. They say my brothers accord has 190lbs of torque!
I don't think so.
They also list some turbo cars as non turbos and some of their hp spex are wrong on certain cars too.
I use them a lot and I am dissapointed on how much is wrong on their site. Like today, use them to see what the HP for an 89 celica gts was and found out they were front wheel drive... aren't they rear wheel, but I could be wrong.

Someone lock this before someone ends up in jail. This is showing how corrupt some of our members are.
