Default Brand New RMF Header breaking on the dyno!!!

It has been brought to my attention about a Brand new RMF Header breaking on the dyno. Reason for the post is I ordered a Narrow Style RMF B-Series header since April, still waiting on it and I have been offered the option of a toda header.
Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated...Any alternative options on headers would be an asset.
Thanks In Advance

Im taking a seat, with my pop corn right here. This should be an interesting thread.

You want quality get a Mugen header, nicest header I have ever used, you want power go with something made by the newer guys RMF, SMSP etc

What do you mean by nicest?

Im sure you are aware that the SMSP header kills the Mugen header in terms of power. VSBB6 went from Mugen to SMSP and made a lot more power.

The nicest header I ever used is the one that made the most power

Thats kind of a weird way to ask what header to buy.But anyway ,Yes I talk to the guy and we worked something out .I have no idea what happened. But out of the over 1000 Honda headers that is the first time someone has said that has happened to a brand new header on the dyno.

I've never owned a RMF header but there are a lot of praises i see on the forum. one thread regarding a RMF header cracking due to manufacturers defects out of all the others is a pretty good ratio. What sets him apart is his willingness to fix the problem.

Listen guys, I didn't mean to bring down RMF/ImportPowerHouse in anyway....We all know of the quality and preformance they provide... Just a weird occurence and wanted to know if there were any others. Whats the status on the backorders?

I have to agree with this guy. If anything goes wrong with an RMF or SMSP header, those guy will help you, and in a timely fashion.

Mugen or Spoon might replace your header, but how long is that going to take?

But you still haven't answered the question. How is the Mugen header the "nicest header ever". If a header is used to make power and you said if you want power go with a SMSP, then why is the Mugen header still the nicest? Because you paid $3,000 for it?

Not true, we had ours break after 1 month of use. There was one batch that the coaters supposedly screwed up and they are all breaking. I know of at least 2 others besides the one we have.
Randy stepped right up and said to call and get a shipping tag and they would take care of it right away..

And for the Mugen guy. I dyno tested the Mugen against 3 different SMSP headers and they all beat the Mugen by at least 8whp and up to 22whp in some spots , so you are correct about getting one for more power.

Smsp has also ony had 1 header break in the past 7 years. So the quality can be found there too.

Btw the spoon header beat the mugen by 4-5 whp as well.

"I have no idea what happened. But out of the over 1000 Honda headers that is the first time someone has said that has happened to a brand new header on the dyno."

My only question is:
was the RMF Header brace bracket on the car?
was there flex pipe installed?

if has ben my experience with the RMFs that without the brace an flexpipe it is VERY likely it will break.

The ratio of RMF headers WITH brace adapters and fle pipe to NON braced headers that have broken is more evident with the NON braced. IE i have had 15 RMF headers for customers, with braces and flex they are much less likely to break. I have had some with the bracing break, but usually at the collector.

FYI I have a Hytech Production header, Sparks, ANR, RMF here at my shop that all had to be reparied. Big dollar headers break, is is my uderstanding that they use thinner material compared to a DC sports, etc and are more prone to break.

doesnt mean its a bad product at all. RMF will take care of any problems if you contact him, he stands behind his product.

So does SMSP
So does Rage
So does DTR
So does Hytech
