On my buddies car while it is on jack stands if you turn the tires side to side the steering wheel will rotate like completely 360, what could cause this.

 

Anyone?

 

The steering wheel is suppose to turn 360 degrees, how else would you turn, am I missing something ?

 

well, what I mean is you pul the tires left then right and it keeps turning in 1 direction, it doesn't turn left then right

i think Indy cars dont turn a full 360

yeah but when are you going about 200mph down a road.

 

So when you turn the wheels outside the car, the steering wheel only turns one way ? Bad gear box then.
