Default Getting out "ORANGE PEEL" ? Fresh Paint... pre-clearcoat

Ok I am painting some body parts and I got some slight orange peel effect on my final layer of paint before clear coat. What is the best way to remove the orange peel effect? Wetsand with 2000grit? Should I respray a light coat of the base color (black) again after re-wetsanding to remove the peel or should i just wetsand and then clearcoat?

Also should i wetsand the clearcoat?

Sorry this is my first real paint-undertaking any help is appreciated!

clear the parts, the wetsand and buff. Will look nice.
