Almost F'ed up!
Well, i just had a little incident. Probably my only close call on the bike. I've had people pull out in front of me before, but it was nothing a little horn couldn't cure. This made me pucker a little, and was probably a combination of their fault and mine. I just wanted to share, and besides, who doesn't want a litlte MS Paint love
So i was on my way back from my internship. I was almost back to my apartment in Seattle and i was coming down 25th ave right after U Village Mall (those of you that live here, or are my stalker, know what i'm talking about). It's two lanes each direction, but in the afternoon the right lane becomes parking. So, the inner most lane (besides the turn lane) was dea stop for about 30-40 cars. The light was red, no cars were moving in to the turn lane, so i got in it and started accelerating up towards the light. I know i never left first gear, so i wouldn't have been going more than 25-30 mph (probably too fast). The light turns green, and as the line of cars starts thinning out a car a drive on the right just pulls out perpendicular into the turn lane, but doesn't keep moving.

I'm the little green motorcycle. The blue spray paint is where all the traffic was, and the blue square is the car that let the green car in. The green car pulled out right in front of the cement barrier marking off the turn lane (thick yellow line) and just stopped and looked at me. I instantly slammed on the brakes, and noticed the opening between the two cars. I could completely make it through with about 10-12 inches on each side at a pretty good lean, as long as the blue car didn't pull forward any. Just before the green car i let off the brake and chicaned my way between the two cars. I could have easily avoided this situation and i feel pretty lucky to be able to take this as a learning experience.
for me.

woo hoo.. pulled it off, you were in a world of **** there. sorry to say it was your fault... not that the guy pulled out in front of you, but you were in a blind spot for that driver, you should have been EXTRA careful. the main is that your still good to go... GLAD YOUR OKAY!
wow almost the same thing happend to me yesterday. luckly i cover my front brakes when i know that a car can easliy cut through traffic like that.
glad you made it out like i did. i was so scared i went straight home.
always take precaution in situations like this. i have seen "squids" (most likey havent taken MSF course) fly through lines like that. im glad that taking the msf thought me to be extra careful. but you will never know what the other drivers will do.

Yea, i was covering the front brake, thank god. I'm guessing since i didn't get an andrenaline rush, or a freak out, that i could have potentially made the stop. I feel dumb now for taking the risk of weaving in between them.

Within like the first week of riding I had almost the same thing happen to me. I was coming up a hill in the left lane, and some *** clown decided to take a right out of a parking lot, cut across both lanes, and cut me off.
I still have no ******* idea how I pulled this off, but I turned that ******* bike as HARD as I could to the right and missed the guy by about 4 inches and a car in the right lane by about less than a foot.
I rode straight home and thanked GOD for help on that one.
