My AC takes about 20 minutes to get cold on the highest setting. After that, about 30 mins, the car gets ice cold. Is this normal considering the black interior and having it bake in the sun for 8 hours while I work? Or is the compressor old or crapping out or dirty? Low refrigerant? This is on a 94 integra.

Oh yeah, on the 3 and 4 settings, it sounds like hail hitting the car... wtf is that about?

You can check the pressure in the system yourself, I have a black interior and if it sits in the sun it's almost like the a/c doesn't even work. Was worse when I had leather seats.

 

same here....black leather interior and no tint....got on of those windsheild covers and put that up when I'm not in the car and it actually helps...doesnt take as long to cool down

 

i think the black dash heats it up a lot.
