Double-fours :bling:
Are '02-ish A4 Quattros asking for trouble? Bef doesn't want the typical beige Accord or Camry, so we're looking at Volvos, possibly the Audi, not sure what else. She just got froggy and sent me a link to a 560 SL

A4 = golf Platform Vdubb....same shizzy, but the Audi is a bit more upscale. If it were me, i'd forgo the quattro myself. I dont feel like i drive in the snow, etc enough to warrent a 4wd vehicle. My GTI (golf) has traction control, LSD, antilock anyway...so I dont see the need in spending the bucks.
FWIW, I looked at A4s at the same time I looked at GTIs....and liked both. The GTI was just a bit sportier, and im partial to a hatchback so it won out. both the 1.8T and VR6 are pretty reliable. You will hear horror stories of electrical problems with VW/Audi (not as bad as old Bricks though
) but I have not experienced such things :knock on w00d: in almost 80k miles. I have heard that this was more true in the earlier parts of the platform Pre-02. Mine is an '02 1.8T if you care
I havent put a dime into my dubb...besides oil/fuel. My '66 is another story all together
PS,
9MDM's FTMFW!

Coil-packs were a big problem with the 1.8t '02 A4's. Almost stranded both my brother and myself (they aren't fun to drive on 3 cylinders). There was a recall issued though so it shouldn't be an issue. Other than that the car has been really reliable, only issue is the speakers cut out sometimes (right side only). I think the car has 60k on it now.

If its a 1.8L turbo, make sure they have good oil change records WITH synthetic. They have a HUGE oil sludge problem. Me personally would take the ubiquitous Accord. If nothing else, the quality of interior materials and their longevity is better

Yeah, my boss has an A4 T, and told me about that. If we got one, it would probably be his - his wife is after him to sell it and buy a "greener" car (even though she drives a Pilot
). One owner, 81k miles, all recall/warranty work recorded, regular Mobil 1 changes.
Bef said no Accord/Camry/etc - basically "nothing beige"
I did find a pimpy Miata - http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...ist=8

Who said mine was beige? Audi isn't exactly "non beige" just Eurotrash, like Karl's

Yeah, there is the whole Eurotrash thing
Don't know what she has against Accords, but she said no. They're fine cars, though the newer ones are a little boring.
