Default Get a VAFC/SAFC or just gt a new ECU(K-Pro)?

I know that I am eventually going to get a K-pro for my '03 RSX Type S, but right now I am more interested in doing other upgrades before that such as:
-Valve train
-Bottom end
-Crank and pistons.

Right now I have a cold air intake and was holding off on exhaust until I go forced induction or decide to go N/A all the way with a stroker kit or up the compression.

I want to get something that I can tune small stuff like air and fuel with but not pay alot for it untill the K-pro.
My question is for people who have delt with the an apexi or other brand of VAFC SAFC. I am looking at this one by A'pexi.

If you have or currently own one what do you think of it and what are some of it's capabilities.

Since you're only going to lose money buying an AFC now, I'd say to just get the K-Pro and be done with it.. If you shop around, you can get a decent deal on the K-Pro conversion, try pm'ing one of the Hondata dealers that respond..

I understand that the K-Pro is better and that tuning is they key to any amount of power but I don't have the money right now for the K-Pro and on top of that I wouldn't have the money right now to tune it either. It is going to be ahwile before I can really start to get things like forced induction that will involve an amount of tuning, that is why I am going to do the head work first with the valve train because I can do that myself.

Right now I just want something that I can do minor tuning with, lower v-tec and do in my back yard becuase I am on a slim budjet. Like I said, it will probably be ahwile before I get anything big that really needs tuning.

I appreciate the input but I guess my real question is that with the computer in the type s and how touchy it is would it be worth it to get th VAFC in the early stages to do minor tunes or would I be fighting a loosing battle.
