Default Best way to 350 whp in EG

Okay, I finally gave up on heavy Hondas (I had 2 Accords) and I bought an EG. It's my project car and won't be on the road until after a swap and some body work. My question is, what engine swap should I go with if I'm looking for 350-400 whp? I am just getting into the b-series because of this car and I really only know H22s... which are a ton of work to boost. Do B16/18s take boost well after some build?

Money really isn't an issue (under $15000) because it isn't my DD and I have time. What series should I go with? D, B, or H?

Thanks, Kevin.

check out http://www.full-race.com

They have some turbo kits straight out of the box to meet different needs. Kind of expensive but seems to be well worth it.

u got 15g's? Buy a Type R and turbocharge that

You won't be sorry...

Either that or a B20/Vtec

EDIT: U have 15g's, buy a K20 and turbo that? It's really up to u, lots of motors can make htat w/ a big turbo, tuning, and some other adjustments...

Some people like hype-r VTAK tublows!

Thats why I'd do GSR because the compression isn't as high as the ITR/CTR

But whatever motor you go with, its all about the TUNE!

going turbo on a itr is the worst thing you can do. if had a itr, NA is the best set up, that's what they were made for.

to hit 350, turbo a b16 or b18b/b20

If money is no object... Turbo K-series

But for a cheaper route, Built b18c1 Turbo.

lol, everyone and their mother has an idea as how to get to 400whp with 15k.

Buddy of mine made 300whp on a stock B16 w/ a stage 2 Full Race kit.
---
I'd go LS/VTEC w/ pistons/rods & turbo it.

built k24 block with k20a2 head.... hands down

guy on k20a.org hit 400-500 whp with stock block at 14psi if I remember correctly (lasted a few months lol)

I have all motor k20a-R hit 225 whp & 155 tq with open header - makes power to redine (8600)

easier route would be built ls-vtec

If I had $15k and I wanted 350whp I'd buy a '99 Z06 Corvette and not have to worry about driving my shitass Civic with no PS or AC whenever I wanted something fun to do.

But we wouldn't want to do that, now would we? I mean, a Z06 will out-handle, out-run, out-last and out-panty-drop any Civic on the market, but whatever

If you're honestly set on blowing $15k on a Civic - God only knows why you'd spend that kind of money on a front-drive anything - a piston/rod GSR with ARPs and a well tuned T-60 setup will hit 350whp without a problem. Nothing like a street car with no traction!

agree, but I don't know where you're finding Z06s for 15k...

And I thought they came out in 01? Could be wrong.

Three years ago when I was looking for a friend I found a handful for $17.000. I'm sure you can get a higher-mileage Z06 for $15.000 from some private seller through autotrader.

Or you could put an 80% down payment on it, anyhow

do you know what the expletive you are talking about?

I have spent less than half an hour reading though topics and all i see is **** you post that makes no ******* sence.

do NOT go TypeR turbo. TyperR's have higher stock compression than any other BSeries engine, and as MOST OF US know, high compression + turbo = bad.

Buy a B18c throw some Golden Eagle sleves, pistons, rods, valves, and valve springs in it, get an intake manifold, Bseries Turbo kit, and stop on the gas.

Well if you're building for boost, it doesn't matter what the stock compression is, and the R head flows better.

Besides it's all about tuning.
