Default Honda's Rev Hang Reflash ....

Does anyone have a TSB or code for this,
I just called 2 dealers and one said it doesn't pertain to my car
I'm too busy to argue with them since i'm at work

but always have free time to argue on lunch & afterwork

Thanks
- Mike

I'm with you Mike. I called my Dealership yesterday and talked to someone in service, and I would have been better off calling McDonalds and asking them. They had no clue what I was talking about. Does a fix for the hang even exist at the dealer. I know Hondata has a fix. Yeah so if anyone has a TSB, that would be awesome. Somebody at one of my local dealerships has to know something if it exist. ??????

Well its a culmination of these 2 threads....

This person stated there is a bunch of dealers reflashing.....

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums...11777

which is pretty much spun off of the hondata site, that they are also offering the same reflash that honda offers

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums...11644

I'm currently running OEM settings on my ECU, i just want the rev hang changed and to be running the most current settings.

If you need my VIN number just PM me

"isn't there some sort of reflash or whatever" (me hella dumb, first honda, the only thing i knew about honda was that the Si was the fastest one lol)

I am taking my car in for service in about 20 minutes. I called them, but they didn't hear anything. I will bring this up and ask them about this particular update.

See that is whats weird,

if its out there and people are updating
are they NOT really updating and just going in to go in... so dealers can log in some warranty service time.

OR

is it out there and just that unknown

Weird

this reminds me of January when i bought the si and rbf351 and i were trying to get the wiring schematics to retrofit the oem navigation

NO dealer had it, wasn't being released for a few months

Rob posted it on Acurazine and some dude pm's him with SHEETS and SHEETS of schematics lol

Just got back from the dealer and they are a bunch of d-bags. They had no idea what I was talking about and then they tried to argue with me about it. I am so pissed. Also, the lady that I talked to ealier told me my 3500 mile "checkup" or whatever was today at 1:30 when it is really tomorrow. to the Honda service techs.

Let me try and clarify for people. The dealers ARE clueless. I called 3 yesterday and none had any idea. The one I went to actually said he checked the HDS tablet for the update and said there was nothing.

I have a friend that is a tech at a local dealership and we reflashed mine at his dealership LAST NIGHT. There REALLY IS an update. I watched it, it's a new version number, and it actually says it fixes the hang, etc.

I don't know if you guys are just asking, or if the dealers are actually checking, but after connecting the HDS to my car, my friend found the update and applied it.

PICS during upgrade (0%)

Yours will probably not need the honda reflash because your car hasn't been built yet, or will be built after the update. Basically, on many new Si's the throttle is not responsive and has some pretty annoying DBW (brive by wire) lag. The OEM Honda reflash fixes this hesitation and lag, for a more responsive throttle.

The HONDATA reflash is a performance upgrade. As of 8/1/06 the HONDATA reflash boosts performance as well as fixes the rev hang issues. Anyone who got the HONDATA reflash before 8/1/06 will need to send it back to HONDATA not honda for the rev hang. If you have HONDATA reflash and take it to a honda dealership, they will overwrite the HONDATA programming, thus wasting $600.

or what its called or any other details. I have a friend at honda and wouldnt mind dropping by to see if he has this latest update. And at the same time i would like to know more about where it is on the scanner so i dont waste his time.

I don't remember the exact location, but I remember watching my friend click PGM-FI at some point after entering the milage and VIN. I don't know if it was in there, but it showed the update version was 50 or 05 and the old version was 40 or 04. I honestly don't know the procedure because I didn't watch what he was pressing.

But I do remember 100% that there is an update, and it will tell you that it fixes the rev hang and 1st gear hesitation.

I just got back from the dealership and I need to thank Von for being extremely helpful (they also have an NBP Si for sale tucked away in the back...no navi).
First off, DO NOT talk to anyone other than a technician.
The upgrade is for their HDS board not our ECU
I watched him look up on the Honda intranet and read that the upgrade disc was mailed to all dealers the week of July 10th. They ALL have the disc. They may not have installed it yet but they have it
Ask them what version they are running
It should be 2004.005.04
The software allows the HDS to read the ECU for the 07 Accord and 07 Civic(all except the GX and Hybrid
If they have the correct software, talk them into running a diagnostic on your ECU. The update will then show up on the HDS and you can receive the "upgrade" The software for the 07 models has the throttle hang fixed, All that is happening is your ECU is being reflashed to 07 specs
Unfortunately the dealer I went to was running the one that was sent out in December...there have been 3 upgrades since. The tech said he will install the software before my upcoming appt. SO the latest I can have it is the 17th....I'm going to start searching over since I now know how to explain this and get some answers
I went to White Plains Honda

Thanks for the info.

I was just at a Honda dealer this morning for an oil change, so I asked about this stuff (in general) but they didn't have a clue.
