LS-T gas milage, what are you guys getting roughly?
hey guys, i'm just curious if i'm close to where i should be or not. I'm tuned with crome on 750cc injectors.
9.5:1 comp.
roughly
20mpg around town & alittle screwing around
25-26mpg highway

ls vtec turbo about 400whp on 91 octane tuned on 1000cc injectors with hondata
i get about 17mpg mostly street driving. if i get luckey and drive more on the freeway i might hit low low 20's

That sounds close to mine.. but idk how the hell these other guys are gettin 30+mpg while boosted?

I know aseduguy was getting close to 40mph on his boosted b18, but that was when he was on the highway without bosting.

gotcha, that would be really nice to be able to pull that type of fuel efficency while out of boost. but is 15:1 really safe or is that abusing the motor, coz i'd rather not thake the chance of blowing the engine up!

15s are acceptable... I even tuned for 15.5-8 in some portions on one of my vac. maps with low 12s under boost. Once you start getting into 16/17s you start getting misfire... I could get close to 30mpg (mixed) if I didnt rape it from every stoplight like I did, but I figure, whats the point of having a boosted car if you dont hit boost? lol O BTW this was on a B20, but I was using a LS .bin....

I know its not a non-vtec setup, but its good to know for reference.

how is 40mpg even possible when bone stock ls motors dont even get close to that kind of millage. i mean i can barly hit 29-30mpg with my gf's stock 00 civic ex. and when i have my bone stock b16 i was only geting about 25mpg. i mean i know lots of ppl with stock b seris motors and none of them get more than 30 mpg so how does a modifiyed boosted motor get 40 mpg?

The stock o2 sensor under crusing conditions keeps the a/f ratio at ~14.7 to 1, with a piggy back system you can run the ecu under open loop all the time (no 02 sensor input) and run the cars fuel map upwards of 15-16 to 1. This saves fuel. However it takes longer to tune the car with it in open loop all the time, compared to just running it in closed loop and letting the o2 sensor do the work.

Its fairly easy to get significantly better fuel economy. The first step is to tune your part throttle. 15's AFR in cruising will save you quite a bit of fuel. Make sure you advance your ignition timing when you lean out the fuel to help get complete combustion. The second step is all on the driver. Keeping off the throttle and accelerating significantly slower makes a world of difference. If you open up a fuel map in any of the ROM editors you will notice fuel consumption jumps significantly between columns, but not by rows(rpm). If you can manage to accellerate over a longer period of time, allowing less load on the engine, your fuel economy will increase quite a bit.
If you drive like a sane individual and only boost every once in a while when needed, you should be able to get 25-35mpg. Generally the high 20's is more realistic though, but you can get 35mpg if you do what I stated above.

I get way better mileage than when I was NA, I know its tuned a bit lean also, but if I mash the gas I get like 15mpg. I havent meashured yet but I guess its around 28-30mpg

i get around 22-25mpg around town in my boosted b series, probably closer to 27-28 on the highway. i do have my vacuum tuned to 14:1-15:1 up until about 8" vacuum
I dont know what mine is because I mix it some much, but with like 50% city and 50%highway driven relatively hard I get 27 mpg. If I can stay out of the gas and do all highway I have gotten 31-32 ish before
