Default d16y7 mini me????

alright heres the scoop, i have a d16y7 motor and i have already put the y8 intake mani on there but i wanna do the rest of the head swap. i am currently using my y7 throttle body and y7 iacv. it runs fine on my car. what i did was plug the two ports on the back of the y8 mani to make it work. my question is can i still run my same setup when i change to the y8 head, i know i need a knock sensor and hookup the vtec solenoid and pressure switch but i wanna keep my y7 throttle body and iacv. will this work?

yeah u can keep the y7 t/b and iacv, i know this was covered some where before. i'm not sure on the how its wired but i know its been done before and seen it done. i'm pretty sure its just a matter a swapping some pins around. hopefully someone will chime in and give u a straight answer. at the very least maybe compare the wiring diagrams for the y7 and y8.

Yes you can keep it I did the Y7 mini-me but with the two wire its better so that i can chip my car for boost, but if you stay with the Y7 IACV and Throttle body It will be exactly the same as the Y8 auto setup, hope that helps

That would require custom tuning. With a stock Y8 head, he can just run a P2P ECU.

i second that, as far as tuning what would really be needed to be done? if he went with a cam that worked within the factory rev limit i'd think he'd be fine. he could always use a cam gear to make it work and keep it under the factory rev limit. other than that what else would he really need to do, fuel and timing?
