Default Can a bad main relay mess up your car?

So ive narrowed down my starting problem to my main relay.... but heres my question. I have been driving with a bad one for a while now--- i jsut couldnt figure out what it is. Can it hurt your car after the start? Or is it just a matter of turning your fuel pump on or something?

Actually im not even really sure what it is so if you know please tell me that too

Thanks

can't really hurt ur car, it powers the fuel injectors, fuel pump, and ECU

Only way it can hurt is if the main relay being fucked up is making ur pump turn on and off frequently

Can lead to a burnout of the pump or ur engine running lean

This is rare though, usually the main relay just goes, it doesn't go down in corrosive cycles...

...There's nothing wrong with ur damn car, just replace the main relay and everything'll be peachy - no damage

most def. your car will be fine, and the thing is for some reason when is hot out or your car is in the sun it'll burn out the main relay, almost every time. just had to replace mine.
