I don't know if this statement is true or not but I was told that there are two different variations of the k24 engine, with one being similar to the k20a2 (3 cam lobes for example) and that one was more similar with the k20a3. Can anyone verify this and if so, which motor comes in which car?

I'm wanting something with torque as my car is my daily driver and I like to have that little oomph when rolling around town

hope you have at least 8k to spend on the swap...The motor you're talking about, is the k24a2 out of the Acura TSX. I had one, but sold it...you can find them for around 2200-2700. You cannot use the k24 transmission with any of the mount kits offered by either hybrid-racing, hasport, or avid...
