Default Proper Install Procedure for OEM Pads?

The Helms manual talks about using the shims that come with the new pads. Should these be used? I know on my Hawk HP+ pads people said not to use the shims; so I was wondering if the same went for the OEM pads. Also, any general tips on installing new OEM pads?

Thanks!

Use the shim on the OEM pads. Put some anti-seize compound where mentioned on the manual.

Awesome thanks. Just FYI, the rear brake pad change page on the site doesn't work but I found his original post about it so no big deal.

Anyone know if there is a difference between anti-sieze lubricant and the anti-squeal stuff? If I don't use the Molycote M77 that comes with the stock pads, which of the two would I use?

Use anti-squeel because anti-seize is for helping bolt removal on rusted or old bolts.
