Default black housing jdm headlights?

anyone ever painted their sir headlights black? jw if anyone has any pics or seen anyone do it, was thinking about it cause i have never seen it.

also anyone have any pics of projectors retrofitted into sir headlights? thinking about putting hids but i dont want any glare.

i painted mine gunmetal just to seee..they are all yellowed and cracked anyways, but it sucks. no light output at all. and as far as projectors, you will still get glare. the SIR headlights are refracting headlights and all the interior mapping of the lens makes them work. they depend on refracting the light, not projecting it oout. a buddy did it with some a4 HIDs and they are brightg but it is horrible to drive by. he got pulled over and issued a ticket within a week....

so the best thing to do would be get high output aftermarket H4 bulbs and not go HID's ??

cause theres a company in the marketplace selling HID kits made for H4 that i was considering...

but i dont want tickets!
