Default 619 Whp stock block s2k

Those are a couple of pics done by some people admiring my car at the latest St00pidfast dynoday here in houston tx
We ran the car on c16 race gas and made 619 whp @ 30 lbs on the baby sc60bb turbo (it was also 101 degrees so that dropped power a bit from the nice 633 it has made at its peak so far)
Right now we are in the process of transplanting a turbo 350 chevy automatic 3 speed tranny in here and getting the fuel system up to par for making some bigger numbers

Dyno chart coming tomarrow so stay tuned

Tight! now all you need is a big belt buckle that says "619hp and doing it for the bitches!"

wow. i love the wastegate placement. not everyday you see one on the other side of the collector like that but looks ideal. great work. that k motor seems to hold a lot more power than i thought. good work!

I would bet it is going to become a drag car. Not much else to do with it besides that. Using a tranny like that would allow alot more consistency.

i'm very impressed with the numbers on the stock engine, but i always wonder how long a boosted car making 600+whp on stock internals is going to last....i hope you guys have plans to rebuild it and shoot for more power in the future!!

i believe s2k's have forged internals from the factory. still alot of power but not as bad as cast internals

If any of you have seen the stock internals you would understand why I am not so worried about boosting it
Yes we are also in the process of building a real race engine that will be maxing out a large gt74qbb turbo from innovative in the near future (turbo is rated to 900 and we are gonna shoot for 1000 hp )
This car is being fully built for drag as some may have guessed, the class we are shooting for is the new ndra class Pro Street Tire

Advantages to the automatic trans are:
*Super tough (a stock t350 trans can easily handle big v8s running 600 whp and 600 trq, mine is fully built to handle 1000+ hp)
*consistent launches
*no dead band between shifts (when u push the clutch in you have zero power going to the ground, automatics shift instantly so there is no dead band, I have full power at the ground a little longer to give me the slight edge)
*I get to brag about being the only automatic s2k in the world
*build and rebuild parts are super cheap being that it is a domestic (trans core is like $350, all parts to build it up come to less than a total of $1000 for the trans)
*Choosing the right trq converter will keep me in my power band alot better than the rpm drop of a manual trans
*puts less strain to other drive train parts thus keeping them together longer
*super big smokey burn outs woot (gear is 2.52 in first, 1.52 in 2nd, 1 in 3rd)

i sure hope when you said that, it was your way of saying, "that S2K motor

can you comment some more on the wastegate placement. it looks as if you did it that way for space (or lack thereof). my engine bay is pretty cramped too, so i'm trying to look at some ideas. i'm still kind of new to turbos. how does that affect spool time? also, how safe will it be to spin that domestic tranny up to 9k?

sick build, can't wait to see a vid of this thing in action.

Wastegate placement was there originally because I had intents of roadracing the car and wanted no chance of boost creep during the high stress and heat of road racing, since I started to turn up the boost I have changed my mind however and it is becoming a full drag car, it is making good power, get full 30psi by 6k rpm so I would say that it is doing well

30 psi by 6K....yea, that's pretty ok .

so you're saying that placing the wastegate in that way helps to reduce/eliminate boost creep? like i said, space constraint is a pretty big problem for me and my vehicle and if i could find something that would help out with the space problem as well as an added benefit, that would be great

keep up the good work guys.

i'm also a domestic guy and 600whp will turn a stock th350 into mush.. they shift really soft stock anywaz so they dont mess up grandma's hair.. they are pretty cheap to build though so thats always a plus.. make sure you get a high *** stall because your going to want power at launch

you could also look into an AOD tranny but they are less reliable and more expensive to build.. then you would retain your gas mileage (although with a 1000hp car i doubt your worried about mileage)

you could always get a powerglide.. thats whats goin in my 1000hp pumpgas turbomustang

how does that stock rear end do with 600 hp?

we were gonna use something like a 3500 rpm stall and spray at the line so it isnt so harsh on the drive train as using the full throttle launch
Also the trans I am getting is being fully built by a very good trusted friend of mine who runs a trans shop, he has done a th350 that is holding 850 hp in a camaro, I think he can do one for me, if and when I run into problems with the th350 I will go over to a powerglide or th400

very nice numbers, a local shop here around Atlanta did a very nice Turbo S2k setup. They went ahead and did internals. The crowning touch was the V mount. At 15 psi on pump gas they made 512.93 (link to pics of that car http://forums.importatlanta.co...s2000 ) Good luck on the rest of the project turning it into a drag car.
