You dont need to use high temp paint.
Just find a color you want and spray it on.
I've even painted my valve cover with the bright orange paint they use to mark the roads.
It holds up fine.
My valve cover is a very ghey pastel pink:

No high temp paint here.

If you're any good with Krylon you can do a fade from Pink into another color of your choosing. It's not very hard to be original if you're willing to do some work
Maybe even some stenciling to set it off in a third color? There's a huge valve cover thread floating around somewhere if you need ideas.

but don't you need to use high temp paint so it doesn't bubble up and flake off? something that can withstand 200 degrees or more is what i was told. btw,
for the cover, i <3 it!

Thanks.
Just scuff it and clean it good before you paint it.
The pink on my valve cover is just normal spray paint. Not high temp.
Its been pink since last summer and it hasnt flaked or bubbled at all.
