Something like this.

It's what the rods are connected to inside the motor.

what engine is it?
If you threw a rod I doubt anything's wrong with the crank pulley, and "crank" is usually short for "crankshaft" - not "crank pulley" -- So it'd make sense that your crank is fucked up, they usually do when u throw a rod, but I've seen pple throw rods w/ no damage to the crankshaft
You have to bring it to a machine shop so they can spin it and see if it's weighing out of circle in any particular area, teh crank has to be balanced to work right...
You'll probalby need a new one, at 8000 RPM's a rod the size of a breaker bar getting slammed around your block 133 times per second is going to do some damage...new block, crank journals, crank, pistons/rods(obviously) because you need a set w/ equal balance so if u intend on replacing only one, it has to be the same exact one...and you have to weigh each one with a scale that emasures to the hundreth place to make sure they're equal or else they're no good..
Look at the brightside, you can usually salvage the head (unless the timing belt snapped), IM, EM, oil pan...all the sensors...everything around teh block :-\

i have a d16z6, but yeah the shop owner doesnt know if i messed it up he just suggested by looking at the hole through the block that the crank may be gone. so how much do u think a camshaft run?
so far for my setup i have vitara pistons and scat rods and new water/oil pumps which he recommended, gaskets, and camshaft seal. and now looking for a z6 block (bare i guess seeing i have all that i need to put in it)
Well this should give you an idea, a new OEM crank through honda is more then $1k.
The cheapest route might be buying a shortblock (engine with no head).
But you could probably find a crankshaft (not CAM) in the classified forums. Most cranks can be repaired though. The machine shop welds material onto the crank and then grinds it down until it is in spec.
