Moto GP Laguna Seca network broadcast (TODAY) - Sat. 7/30
Hey guys. Its too late for the East Coast crowd but for you guys on the West its not too late to catch the broadcast of the recent Moto GP race in Laguna Seca...
Today: 3 - 4 PM Pacific time on ABC
"In a landmark moment for the sport, MotoGP will be broadcast on
network television across the United States this summer after an
agreement was reached between ABC and MotoGP's commercial rights-holders
Dorna Sports.
The deal sees the 2006 Red Bull US Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna
Seca broadcast during an hour-long tape-delayed program on July 30th
at 1-2 pm ET and 3-4 pm PT. The show will include not only the coverage
of one of the most thrilling races of the season, but exciting features,
news and interviews of one of the most spectacular sporting events to
take place on American soil. For the first time since 1994 MotoGP
returned to the U.S. last year.
1993 500 c.c. World Champion Kevin Schwantz attended the Gran Premi
Cinzano de Catalunya in mid-June and was asked by Dorna to sit in the
television commentary box where he contributed to the color of the race.
It was during that same weekend that Dorna also invited Schwantz to be
their guest commentator alongside the ABC sports regular commentator for
the Red Bull USGP. "I enjoyed sitting in the commentary box at
Catalunya and giving insight about the race and riders and was further
honored to be asked by Dorna to sit in the box at the Red Bull USGP for
their tape-delayed ABC show. It was a fun experience as talking about
racing is something I enjoy doing but sitting in a commentary box
full-time probably wouldn't be as much fun," Schwantz said! "
Sadly I'm going to miss it because I'm stuck in the office until 5 but I wanted to let some other people enjoy it.
