I know many of you guys have passed the test at the Referee and I would like to do the same for my 96 Civic w/ 00 GSR Motor. I know that one thing I definitely need is a stock cat (my current one is bad). I'm pulling 2 CEL codes, one is the cat threshold, and the other is the TPS Sensor (probably bad wiring).

Anyways, if you guys have somethings you checked for and major things that you made sure you took care of before the BAR Test. I really just want to know more about the process and what things I need to take care of.

Make sure if you have any high performance parts that it have carb number and it for your year of that engine. And made sure all your vacaum hose and wiring is connect to the right place.

 

-Make sure youre engine timing is set to 16* +/-2 Below Top Dead Center.
-Make sure you reset your ECU when you get your problems fixed or else they will stay stored in the memory.

 

If you fail the first time they will tell you exactly what you need to do to pass and the 2nd visit (every other visit) is free (just the certificate fee 8.25), so its no biggie if you dont pass the first time... Good luck!
