my parking brakes hardly works. if i park on a pretty slant hill w/ just the parking brakes on, my car would roll. i'm not sure where to adjust this since they are rotors instead of drums. i'd already tried right under where the pulling lever are but it didn't make much difference. i think i remember improving the braking after changing the pads but not much. i also know/think that the right side cable have bond w/ the assembly by corrosion that's why the left side brakes just a little bit better. can anyone help me on this?
That happened to me a while back. A man came to my door and ask me if I could move my car. I ask him why and he gave me a mean look. I look outside and it was blocking the main road! From then on I always leave it in gear and pull the handbrake just to make sure it won't move. Like when I take it to the track and try a burnout it just keeps moving. Someone help us out.
How much resistance is there in the e-brake handle? The manual specifies that the handle should be fully engaged within 4-6 clicks I believe. If its more than that, remove the center console and adjust the equalizer in there, if that is fully adjusted, than you will probably need new cables.
Take the center console out and tighten the cables. If it's not tight enough then tighten them some more...that's it. You can unbolt the holder for the cables to make it a lot easier to tighten and then bolt the holder back down.
