Default crx autox and road racers

i have a 91 crx si.
i was wondering whats the best coil over / setup for doing this sports is.?
thanks

sorry. im pretty new to crx's and the whole autox / road racer scene.
if someone could point me in the right direction... i'd like to have a competitive car.

my mods so far are..

b16a swap with intake/header/exhaust. Also have 15 x 7 wheels on 205 rubber which should help some over sotck for now.

I'd def like to get at the brakes after doing suspension. New rotors, better brake fluid, and stainless steel brake lines, and new pads. That should be good enough for starting out.

But suspension is what i really dont have a clue about. Why dont ppl get full coil overs? are the koni/GC combo better? or just cheaper?

do ppl use camber kits? what do you set them to?
what about lca's and sway and stress bars?

what mods do you recomend to get my car to be competive. ?

I am struggling with the same thing. It seems the best options on the market right now, and the most used in the upper ranks, are re-valved Koni Yellows on Ground Control coil overs.

Please search. This topic has been covered many, many times. What it boils down to though is that most people will tell you to start with Koni/GC. However, there are plenty of other options that all work well and extensive reviews of them in the archives.

Please take a look at http://www.KWsuspension.com!

For not much more cost, you can get a GREAT setup from KW!
I use them on my H4 CRX and they are superb!

Do the suspension and get the car to handle decent. But your best way to improve your track times and become competitive is working on you! Focus on getting seat time and instruction. Read, then read books like Speed Secrets and Going Faster.

Call a company like Koni, Ground Control or Leda and speak to them and obtain their suggestions.

Several driving schools, a thorough examination of the rulebook, and lots and lots of money.

Call those race suspension companies! Just because one guy like brand A and does well with it, doesn't mean it's the best set-up for you. Koni, Ground Control, and Leda are all very good suspension companies to buy a suspension. No matter which one you buy it from, it will be good. These companies have many, many years in the business and know their suspension stuff. Tell them what car you have, the tracks you'll be driving, your experience level, and budget. For someone newer to the sport, often times companies will suggest a less stiff suspension which is a little more forgiving. Call them!!

I would not hesitate to recommend any of these:

- custom rate Ground Controls / Koni 8041-Race (I recommend buying from Chris at RedShift Motorsports)
- Progress coilovers
- KW coilovers
- PIC Performance coilovers

I would hesitate to recommend anything else in the same or lesser price range.

Have you looked through the rulebook yet?
