Default eg tranny

k. have a z6 motor and tranny. tranny has 170k mi on her, the motor has 14k mi. well. recently, after i drive for 10+ minutes, not heavy driving or anything. when i stop, steam is coming from under my hood. i look under the hood, the steam/smoke is coming directly from the tranny. so, i check the tranny fluid. a lil over filled, which i then took some out to the exact level desired. the fluid was fine, not black, nothing unusual. has about 7k mi+ on the fluid. it just started steaming/smoking recently. like the last 2 weeks or so. any ideas what it may be? thanx

/\ could possibly have a pin hole in one of your hoses. heater hose or IM coolant hoses?

Get a radiator pressure tester. The one where you put it on your fill hole that adds pressure to your system and aids in finding leaks.

Or is the steam coming from your vent in the top of the tranny??? Maybe rear main seal leaking on your clutch??

I had the same problem back in the day when I had my D15z1, one of my gaskets went out and started leaking oil on the bottom of the exhuast manifold which would cause it to smoke.

Most likely but I am just throwing out possibilities of smoke. Something getting burned on a hot surface.
