Default ZC gods

Hey i want to know if i can put a ZC engine into my car. I have a 96' civic ek hatch. Iv heard that since my car has the d16y7 engine in it that the ZC is just basically a bolt on for the car. That it is really easy to swap motors. I think the engine is JDM is there going to be some problems if so?

well if its JDM it wont pass smog untill you add the emissions equipment.
since the ZC is considered d series, yes, it will practially just drop right in.
is it the sohc non-vtec? sohc vtec? or dohc non-vtec? also, if the engine is older than your car (if it was made before 1996) then you will never pass smog.
